Open Piano
- No age limit.
- Refer to Rules 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 22, 24, 49, 52, 64 and 80. Read all Syllabus rules and regulations with care.
- Competitors entering Open classes may not enter Section 2 (Advanced) classes or Section 6 (Graded) classes..
- A competitor wishing to play a concerto must enter Section 8 Concertos.
- All music in this section must be of at least ARCT, Licentiate, or equivalent level (not necessarily on current lists). Grade 10 or lower not acceptable. Competitors to check Current RCM and Conservatory Canada lists.
- To be eligible for a scholarship, competitors must enter a minimum of TWO classes and receive a minimum mark of 85.
- Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.
- Participants have the option to participate either "in person" or "virtually". This decision must be made at the time of registration.
- Participants who choose the virtual option will be responsible for arranging to have a video recording made of their performance and for creating a YouTube channel that can be shared with the Toronto Kiwanis Festival Office via the online registration system.
- All classes in this section are eligible to proceed to the Provincial level of competition (June, 2024) upon adjudicator recommendation. Participants should be aware that a minimum pieces are required for the Provincial Finals and that the Provincial's registration deadline will be March 25, 2024.
| Class:10001 - Concert Group - ARCT and Above Entrants are given the opportunity of presenting a mini-recital. They will be judged on the discrimination shown in the choice of programme, as well as on interpretation and technique. Variety in content with regard to period, style, key, etc., will taken into consideration. A minimum of 3 pieces is required. | Class:10002 - Haydn/Mozart Sonata - ARCT and Above Any sonata (complete) composed by either Haydn or Mozart. Competitors in this class may not enter Classes 10050-10055. | Fee:closed | |
