Bassoon - Graded Classes
- Refer to Rules 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 22, 24, 49, 52, 64 and 80. Read all Syllabus rules with care.
- Memorization is optional but recommended. Bonus points will be award for memorization.
- NEW: Participants may enter a class more than once as long as different repertoire is entered. A separate registration is required for each entry.
- A piece cannot be used by a competitor in more than one class. Repertoire which does not coincide with stated categories will result in disqualification. See Rule 25.
- To be eligible for a scholarship, competitors must enter a minimum of two classes and receive a minimum mark of 85.
- Da capo and dal segno signs must be played. Repeats should NOT be played unless otherwise indicated in either the RCM or CC Syllabus.
- Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.
- Participants have the option to participate either "in person" or "virtually". This decision must be made at the time of registration.
- Participants who choose the virtual option will be responsible for arranging to have a video recording made of their performance and for creating a YouTube channel that can be shared with the Toronto Kiwanis Festival Office via the online registration system.
- All classes in this section are eligible to proceed to the Provincial level of competition which will be held in Kitchener-Waterloo (June 8-13, 2026), upon adjudicator recommendation. Participants should be aware that two (2) pieces are required for the Provincial Finals and that the Provincial's registration deadline will be March 28, 2026.
