Small Ensembles
- Refer to Rules 12, 13, 14, 18, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 50, 53 and 80. Read all Syllabus rules and regulations with care.
- NEW: Participants may enter a class more than once as long as different repertoire is entered. A separate registration is required for each entry.
- A piece of music, whether prescribed or own choice, cannot be used by a competitor in more than one class.
- Competitors must enter the class corresponding to the average age of the competitors.
- Memorization is optional, but encouraged.
- Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.
- Music choices DO NOT have to be from RCM or Conservatory Canada Popular Lists.
- Sheet music must be provided to the adjudicators (No charts or tabs permitted).
- Repeats can be played as long as performance time remains within the maximum allotted.
- Participants have the option to participate either "in person" or "virtually". This decision must be made at the time of registration.
- Participants who choose the virtual option will be responsible for arranging to have a video recording made of their performance and for creating a YouTube channel that can be shared with the Toronto Kiwanis Festival Office via the online registration system.
- All classes in this section are eligible to proceed to the Provincial level of competition in June 2026 upon adjudicator recommendation. It is a virtual competition for Small Ensembles. Participants should be aware that a minimum of 1 piece is required for the Provincial Finals and that the video must be completed by the Provincial's registration deadline which will be March 28, 2026.
