Music, Speech Arts & Visual Arts Syllabus - 2025 - Songs from the Screen and More

1. Refer to Rules 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 25, 49, 53, 54, 55, 65 and 80. Read all Syllabus rules with care.
2. The ensemble must consist of a minimum of four individuals to a maximum of fifteen individuals. The average of the ages of all participants must be equal or be less than the category entered.
3. Memorization is required.
4. NEW:Participants may enter a class more than once as long as different repertoire is entered. A spearate registration is required for each entry.
5. A piece of music, whether presecribed or own choice, cannot be used by a competitor in more than one class.
6. Competitors must enter the class corresponding to the age of the oldest member of the duet/trio
7. Selections must be songs that were written for, or first appeared in a movie or film.
8. To be eligible for a scholarship, competitors must enter a minimum of TWO classes and receive a minimum mark of 85.
9. Musical Theatre, Popular Voice and Classical Voice selections are not permitted.
10. Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.
11. Participants have the option to participate either "in person" or "virtually". This decision must be made at the time of registration.
12. Participants who choose the virtual option will be responsible for arranging to have a video recording made of their performance and for creating a YouTube channel that can be shared with the Toronto Kiwanis Festival Office via the online registration system.
13. All classes in this section are eligible to proceed to the Provincial level of competition (June, 2025) upon adjudicator recommendation. Participants should be aware that only one (1) piece is required for the Provincial Finals and that the Provincial's registration deadline will be March 30, 2025.
