Concert Groups

  2. Refer to Rules 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 22, 24, 49, 52, 64 and 80. Read all Syllabus rules with care. Read all Syllabus rules and regulations with care.
  3. Entrants are given the opportunity of presenting a mini-recital. They will be judged on the discrimination shown in the choice of programme, as well as on interpretation and technique. Variety in content with regard to period, style, key, etc. will be taken into consideration.
  4. Time limits to be strictly observed.
  5. Competitors in this section may not enter Open (Section 1) or Advanced (Section 2).
  6. A piece of music, whether prescribed or own choice, cannot be used by a competitor in more than one class. Repertoire which does not coincide with stated categories will result in disqualification. See Rule 23.
  7. Competitors wishing to qualify for the Provincial Music Festival (June, 2023) must enter appropriate classes in Open (Section 1), Advanced (Section 2), Graded (Section 6). This section does not qualify for Provincials.
  8. To be eligible for a scholarship, competitors must enter a minimum of two classes and receive a minimum mark of 85.
  9. Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.
  10. Participants have the option to participate either "in person" or "virtually". This decision must be made at the time of registration.
  11. Participants who choose the virtual option will be responsible for arranging to have a video recording made of their performance and for creating a YouTube channel that can be shared with the Toronto Kiwanis Festival Office via the online registration system.
