Taya is a highly versatile and intuitive artist and educator who brings her diverse skills and enthusiasm to the classroom to encourage, foster and instill a deep love of the arts in the lives of children. Taya works across many disciplines including fine art, mosaic, printmaking, urban art & installations, sculpture, textiles, set design, stop-motion animation, and indeed anything that sparks and captures her interest. Over the past 13 years, Taya has been running in-class workshops and school community instillation projects throughout the TDSB as well as teaching for numerous arts-based companies and festivals. She started her career with the Royal Conservatory's Learning Through The Arts Program and was the founder and resident artist for the 'Fern Avenue PS Arts Collective' implementing quality arts programming for the Fern community. She has been a resident artist and mentor for the tdsbCreates Festival for the past 10 years and also runs her own private art classes for children in The Art Garden. She is always excited to collaborate, learn and share knowledge with students and teachers. Taya truly believes EVERYONE can be creative and hopes she inspires that belief in others.
