
Canadian soprano Morgan Strickland is a celebrated performer and educator known for her artistry, insight, and dedication to vocal excellence. A native of Ottawa, Ontario, she
holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the UOttawa and a double Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from the New England
Conservatory in Boston. Her principal teachers and mentors include Lorraine Nubar, Dalton Baldwin, Ingemar Korjus, John Greer, and Martin Katz among others. She also
pursued intensive summer studies at the Académie Internationale d’Été de Nice in France, focusing on vocal technique and interpretation.
Her operatic credits include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Contessa Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Gertrude (Hänsel und Gretel), Bastienne (Bastien und
Bastienne), Lola (Gallantry: A Soap Opera), Nedda (Pagliacci by Leoncavallo), and Morgana (Alcina by Handel). In 2023 and 2024, she appeared as soprano soloist in Ottawa
Choral Work’s Carmina Burana and Handel’s Messiah with CAMMAC and OperOttawa. In September 2025, Morgan jointed the National Arts Centre Orchestra for their (NACO)
production of Puccini’s Tosa, under the baton of acclaimed conductor Alexander Shelley.
Morgan’s work as an educator is marked by innovation and inclusivity. She serves as adjunct faculty at Carleton University and maintains a vibrant private voice studio for developing and professional singers alike. She is also Co-founder and Artistic Director of SOPAC Ottawa, where she leads regular youth and adult programs and summer musical theatre productions designed to nurture confidence, artistry, and collaboration among young performers.
As President of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Capital Region Chapter, Morgan champions pedagogical excellence and professional
mentorship. A sought-after clinician and adjudicator, she enjoys presenting masterclasses on vocal pedagogy, interpretive artistry, and the neuroscience of singing.
Through her work as a performer, teacher, and leader, Ms. Strickland continues to shape and inspire the next generation of vocal artists across Canada and beyond.
