Section 125: Harp Solo – Open – ARCT & Above
Section Notes
- Refer to Rules 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 22, 24, 49, 52, 64 and 80. Read all Syllabus rules with care.
- In all Open classes selections do not need to be memorized, but it is strongly encouraged.
- All music for Open classes must be at the ARCT level or above. Competitors to check Current RCM and Conservatory Canada lists. Grade 10 or lower not acceptable.
- To be eligible for a scholarship, competitors must enter a minimum of two classes and receive a minimum mark of 85.
- Performance times MUST be included on the entry form.
- Participants have the option to participate either “in person” or “virtually”. This decision must be made at the time of registration.
- Participants who choose the virtual option will be responsible for arranging to have a video recording made of their performance and for creating a YouTube channel that can be shared with the Toronto Kiwanis Festival Office via the online registration system.
- All classes in this section are eligible to proceed to the Provincial level of competition virtually (June, 2024) upon adjudicator recommendation. Participants should be aware that 2 pieces are required for the Provincial Finals and that the Provincial’s registration deadline will be March 25, 2024.

- Da capo and dal segno signs must be played. Repeats should NOT be played unless otherwise indicated in either the RCM or CC Syllabus.

- A piece cannot be used by a competitor in more than one class. Repertoire which does not coincide with stated categories will result in disqualification. See Rule 23.
