Concertos

  1. Refer to Rules 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 22, 24, 49, 52, 64 and 80. Read all Syllabus rules with care.
  2. Really all Syllabus rules and regulations with care.
  3. Own choice of any concerto with mvt. requirements listed in each class. Please note that the Italian Concerto by J.S. Bach is not permitted in this section.
  4. Orchestral part to be played on second piano.
  5. A competitor in any concerto class may also act as accompanist for another competitor.
  6. Cadenzas where supplied, must be played.
  7. To be eligible for a scholarship, competitors must enter a minimum of two classes and receive a minimum mark of 85.
  8. Participants have the option to participate either "in person" or "virtually". This decision must be made at the time of registration.
  9. Participants who choose the virtual option will be responsible for arranging to have a video recording made of their performance and for creating a YouTube channel that can be shared with the Toronto Kiwanis Festival Office via the online registration system.
  10. All classes in this section are eligible to proceed to the Virtual Provincial level of competition (June, 2024) upon adjudicator recommendation. Participants should be that the Provincial's registration deadline will be March 25, 2024.
