
Alix Sideris is a multi-hyphenated artist; a professional actor, movement director, writer, director, as well as a somatics practitioner, and educator. Her work has been seen at the Stratford Festival of Canada, the National Arts Centre, Theatre Calgary, the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Glenn Gould School, Canadian Opera Company, Young People’s Theatre, to name a few.
Recent acting credits include Better Days (Apple TV), Room (Mirvish), The Odyssey, Valhalla, Dawn of Ragnarök (Ubi Soft). Alix twas a resident actor with the National Arts Centre's English Theatre.
Some recent Movement Direction credits include Erased (Theatre Passe Muraille & Heidelberger Stückemarkt, Germany); The Monkiest King (Toronto Centre of the Performing Arts); Hamlet (Stratford Festival); 41 Neighbours (Pan Am Games).
Various institutions around the country have hired Alix to facilitate workshops in: acting and performance, movement, embodiment/authentic gesture, impulse, mind/body, Laban, Waterwork, mask, embodiment in opera. Some centres include: Stratford Festival, RCM, Glenn Gould School, York University, YPT, COC, Randolph Academy, Canadian Children’s Opera Company, National Arts Centre, University of Waterloo. and the universities of York, Waterloo, Brock, Queens to name only a few.
Alix was also the Curator/Industry Associate for the Magnetic North Theatre Festival, a founding member of Prix Rideau Awards, and served as a 2 term Canadian Actor's Equity councillor.
She is happy to return as adjudicator at the Kiwanis Festival!
