Liz Parker

Liz Parker has been a piano teacher for 40 years and loves working with her students so they can express themselves, learn discipline, meet deadlines, and build confidence. A veteran of Vancouver piano competitions (kids – she knows what you're going through), Liz has served as an adjudicator of music festivals since April of 2020, including the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, the Norfolk Music Festival, the Vancouver Area Youth Arts Festival, the Canada Children's International Music Festival, and the Vancouver Academy of Music. She recently adjudicated the ORMTA competition in November 2023 and will adjudicate the Peterborough Kiwanis Festival in March. She has been a member of ORMTA since 2000 and was a member of the BC chapter from 1985 – 2000.

Liz graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music at 15 with a Gold Medal for the top mark in Canada. She holds her Licentiate from England's Trinity College of London and her Bachelor of Music from UBC. She worked in public relations for the Vancouver and Toronto Symphonies, the Corporation of Roy Thomson & Massey Hall, and blogged for The New Classical FM. She side hustles as a stylist for musician photo shoots. She teaches hybrid online/in person from her home studio in downtown Toronto.

Interests include Asian fusion cooking, pop culture, and her cat Momo, named for the Tibetan dumpling.
